Funding Our Travels

During our travels, we have explored various options to fund our adventures. Here is a list of what we have personally tried and which ones proved to be successful or unsuccessful.

💸 Online Marketing – This has become our primary income stream throughout our travels. We invested in a comprehensive online course priced at $3000 USD, equipping us with invaluable knowledge on launching a business, attracting clients, and generating leads. There is a lot of room for growth in marketing!

💸 Dropshipping – We also purchased a $3000 USD online course. Although we had some success and made much more than our initial investment, we discovered that this income source was highly inconsistent and unreliable, causing undue stress in the process.

💸 Teaching English – We taught English for one and a half years in Japan. It was a great way to connect with the Japanese locals and immerse ourselves in the culture. Although the pay was okay ($20-40 USD/hour), there was no real room for growth, and the hours could be unreliable.

💸 Influencer collaborations – Natasha’s passion for content creation and documenting our journeys naturally propelled the growth of her social media accounts. This led to collaborations which were a great source of passive income.

With more effort, this can become a high-paying income stream, but you are always dependent on certain social media platforms, causing a lot of stress. For example, without notice, you could have a FB account ban and suddenly lose all of your income.

💸 Website Creation – Another one of Natasha’s passions! During our travels, we consistently encountered opportunities for design work which provided financial rewards. Although we didn’t actively prioritize growing this aspect of our business, I believe that if we wanted, we could transform it into a thriving remote enterprise.

💸 Farm/Construction Work – In Canada & California we did some construction and farm work. Easy to find work and make a quick $$. Although, not a great long-term option for a digital nomad.

💸 Content Creation – Leveraging her exceptional skills in content creation and social media management, Natasha successfully collaborated with several companies, assisting them in content creation and growing their social media presence. This allowed us the flexibility to earn income while traveling and maintaining control over our own working hours.

💸 Social Media Manager – Being a social media manager while traveling offers the perks of flexible remote work and the freedom to explore. However, it can present challenges in terms of growth and financial success.

💸 Bloggin – This is a new journey for us and hopefully, soon we will be able to edit this sentence to something like “A perfect way to make a good income and explore the world as a digital nomad” 😊

Earning While Traveling

The key to embarking on a full-time travel adventure is finding a job that offers remote work flexibility.

During our early travels, we relied on various on-site jobs like farm work and teaching English to sustain ourselves. While these options worked well in affordable destinations such as Southeast Asia, they didn’t provide enough financial support for exploring pricier countries.

Driven to find sustainable solutions, we focused on discovering the best ways to earn money online. We invested in a digital marketing course and dedicated 12 months of hard work, which ultimately transformed our business into a thriving venture generating a six-figure income.

Below, you’ll find our top blog posts that provide invaluable insights on earning a remote income and financing your global adventures.
